About

The original concept for this site came about in the tech boom era prior to the big bust in 2000.  A lot of individual investors were making a lot of money just by following a stock that was on the up.  They knew little of the financial fundamentals of the company and probably even less about the products or service the company provided.

There were a lot of sites offering advice on which technology stocks to buy mainly based on their financial performance with a passing glance at the significance or otherwise of their products or services in the marketplace.

I am very much of the Peter Lynch’s philosophy of ‘Invest in what you know’.  Peter’s book Beating the Street was a major influence on my own style of investment.  Hence I set out to provide the information for the individual investor to know what he was investing in.
